This typical miner's hut has a wonderful display of tools
of yesteryear related to mining. Take time to see the tools that those
in the late 19th century were using to looks for various precious
commodities such as gold, tin and sapphires.

The building was obtained after the closure of the rail line to
Inverell. Presently, it is the home of the Inverell Antique Motor Club,
who maintain the building. Internal access is not available. |
Local Government Museum >>
This building was originally a
homestead at Shadwell Hills. It now houses the Local Government museum
including many artifacts from the old Northwest County Council (now a
part of Country Energy). It is said that artist, Tom Roberts, lived in
this building for a short time and painted on the veranda
overlooking Newstead Station |

<< Old Inverell Hospital Ward
Now housing the RSL Museum of Militaria displaying memorabilia from
both World War I and World War 2. At the back of the building are some
old vehicles of bygone wars. |
Old Bootmakers Shop >>
The building has been retained as a typical bootmakers shop of the
past. Come in and see how the tools they used to handcraft boots and
shoes in day past, when the shoe was made to fit the individual. |

This old homestead is set up with a display of clothing from the past including an extensive display of old wedding attire. |
Gooda Cottage

The Good Cottage houses a full display of gemstones that were typical
of the area. This comprehensive display should be on the visiting
programme of all those who are interested in gemstones. |
