The Mt. Kaputar (pronounced cap you tar) National Park lies to the east of Narrabri (approximately 53Km) and to the west of Barraba (approximately 55Km). This National Park is well worth the visit to see the diversity of animals, climate, geology and plant life.

There is also opportunities for bushwalking, rock climbing aand abseiling in the park.

Take a climb to the 1511m Mt Kaputar peak for some absolutely stunning views of the region.

A recent feature of the Kaputar National Park are the Giant Pink Slugs of Kaputar, a species of slug found only on the summit area of  Mt. Kaputar.
