‘Way to the Peaceful Mountain’ was originally written for a friend in a particular time of her life. It then grew to encompass anyone who may feel the need of a companion, one which they could easily take with them on their journey. Hence a small book which you can slip easily into your pocket. I have written poetry for as long as I can remember and it was natural for me to express my thoughts in this way. I have used some of the images which I have been fortunate to take on my trips in Australia.
From Bob Burling's photo of Mt Warning to mine of Simpsons Gap and Katherine Gorge, through to Uluru and looking over the distance to Arnhem Land I hope that these words will bring a quiet to any of my readers so that we can all know we do not journey alone.
‘Light Me a Candle’ was written for my Mum whose compassion and understanding gave me insight for my own travels.
