KENTUCKY PUBLIC SCHOOL HISTORY
Situated in the village of Kentucky, the Primary School has been the focal point in the Kentucky district community for over one hundred & thirty years.
Originally the school catered to needs of the rural & railway families and later met the educational needs of the thriving orcharding community. Today the school is still the centre point of what is now a very diverse community.

Students, staff and parents together endevour to create a happy, caring, stimulating and productive environment where children will be encouraged to develop a lifelong love of learning.
SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
Kentucky Primary School aims to develop a cooperative spirit amoung students, staff, parents and the wider community to make the school a happy, caring and secure learning environment which fosters equal opportunities for all children. All children will be encouraged to develop talents and abilities to the fullest extent through learning experience which integrate academic, practical, creative and social aspects of learning to prived a rich, varied and balanced education by:
- Learning to value themselves, each other & their environment
- Learning to make decisions about health & physical well being
- Building a lifelong confidence and pleasure in the process of learning
- Fostering independence, self reliance & self discipline
- Promoting an understanding of change and the ability to deal positively with such change.
EXIT OUTCOMES
As a result of our integrated whole school programs, by the time children leave Kentucky School in Year Six they will have had the opportunity to attain the following outcomes in addition to Key Learning Outcomes:
- Experience quality & high standards in learning.
- Confidence in communicating in front of a large group of people
- Pride in Australia's natural heritage
- Awareness of the need to care for our natural environment
- Awareness of the virtues of individuality
- Experience an excursion to a large city environment, coastal environment and an inland national park.
- Participate in leadership activities and maintain Peer Leadership Roles.
