One of the Northern Rivers best kept secrets, Evans Heads is a peaceful yet thriving coastal town located on long sandy beaches and magnificent River surrounded by Bundjalung and Broadwater National Parks and breath taking headlands. Evans Head is the largest town in the Richmond Valley Council. Located right on the coast, it is a very popular holiday destination with all forms of accommodation eing available. Access to Evans Head is to be found with a single road that joins the Pacific Highway in Woodburn.

In addition to its beachside attraction, Evans Head offers the visitor a base for a range of tourist attractions in the region such as the variety of National Parks and other natural attractions.

Evans Head offers safe swimming in the river and patrolled beaches during holiday season, also secluded surfing beaches on the headland Excellent canoeing , boating and fishing in the pristine estuaries , river and creeks teaming with wildlife.

Bushwalking through Australian heath and littoral rainforest at Bundjalung and Broadwater National Parks and Goanna Headland ,in spring time [September to November ] when the heath is in flower is the ideal time for bird watching, also whale watching from the lookout.

Appreciate the whole area by driving from the centre of town across the bridge, past the Boat Harbour take the Ocean drive and enjoy spectacular views from Razorback Lookout [whale watching].

Walk along the training wall to see the dolphins at the river mouth, watch the trawlers as they cross the bar to bring you a bounty of fresh seafood. Other attractions include , exploring the local cycleway, tennis courts, bowling club, golf links and surfing lessons from the surf school .
