Pilliga State Forest

The "Pilliga" is a vast unusual forest that is known for its Cypress Pine and Ironbarks. The area is managed for timber productionas well as its unique flora and fauna, its bore baths (artesian water) and the salt caves, located towards the centre of the forest.

Roads in the area are not sealed and so drivers should take extreme care and, it is recommended that visitors should check on road conditions and closures before travering the forest. These checks can be made by contacting the Baradine Forestry Office on (02) 6843 1907.
