The tiny settlement of Bentley, on the road to Kyogle from Lismore, was named after the Great Bentley in England, the birth place of Robert Barrington Dawson, who built the Bentley Homestead in the 1870's.
The increasingly prestigious Bentley Art Competition is held in the Bentley Hall in July or August each year.
