RAILWAY INFORMATION

Local councils do have some information about communities located within their boundaries. You can access this information through the Local Council site through the link found on Local Information Section of this site.

Ben Lomond lies to the north of Guyra and to the south of Glen Innes. The main turnoff from the New England Highway is found just 0.5Km north of Llangothlin though there are several other access points, all of which are predominantly dirt roads.

It is a spectacular village, lying at the foot of the mountain of the same name, Ben Lomond, which is 1520 metres above sea level.

Ben Lomond was featured in the Australian movie, Little Boy Lost. The old memorial hall has many memories of crowds watching the old silent movies.

The railway station, currently not in use, is, at 1363 metres above sea level, Australia's highest railway station.
