Information about APSLEY FALLS

The Entrance to the Apsley Falls area
Entrance to the Apsley Falls area

From Walcha, the magnificent Apsley Gorge is only 20 km east along the Oxley Highway. A stairway down into the gorge lets you get a great view of the waterfall.

If you follow the Oxley Walk across the river, you can look down on a second waterfall almost as goods as the first. There are picnic tables, BBQ's, toilets, walking tracks, lookout platforms, an informative display and a camping ground. Bring your own water or get it from the river.

Apsley Falls - Top section of falls
The entance to the Apsley Falls area (above) is about 1Km from the falls. The drive in is very picturesque and many people choose to walk at least part of this section.

The photographs on the left show the top section and bottom section of the main falls. These two photographs were taken from completely differnt points in order to get the full view.

Top right shows the river area immediately below the falls whilst the photograph on the bottom right is a view of the gorge around the second falls.
