ACMF President, Peter Burgis, said putting such a discography together would be an enormous task, but one which is not only desired but required by Australia.
"It's an exciting project, and one the Foundation is looking at with relish, as well as some trepidation!" Peter said.
"A number of important reference works already exist and will help establish the basis for the discography, including Eric Watson's History of Country Music In Australia series as well as the growing and accumulating resources of the ACMF itself."
"We'll be actively seeking the support and involvement of people with comprehensive knowledge and collections as well as artists and artists' families who we will be relying on to provide specific information." Peter said.
The discography in essence will never be complete as it will always be growing, but it is planned to publish the document at some point, both electronically and in print. No specific time frame for this has been set.
Details of individual artist recordings to be included in the discography should be sent to the ACMF at P.O. Box 1842, TAMWORTH. NSW. 2340.
Substantial, detailed information could be supplied on computer disc (database RTF - Rich Text Format).
